Technology
AHPCO!
Cell: Next generation of advanced photo catalytic oxidation.
The newest technology on the market.
Basic
ozone producing UV lamp: old technology that produces potentially
dangerous levels of ozone. Claims 4 different mechanisms to clean
air but they do not document what these are.
Mold
Reduction
Lab
test results show a 98% reduction throughout the test chamber.
They
claim microbial reducation, but no specific amounts were claimed
and no lab tests could be found to validate their claims.
Reduce
odors, VOC 's, bacteria and viruses
Labs
show odors cut in half quickly. VOC's are reduced by as much
as 98%. Bacteria and viruses are also quickly destroyed throughout
the home.
They
claim it removes all odors, bacteria, viruses, and to many to list,
all in in 1 hr.
However they offer no lab tests to validate their claims. A
recent inquiry by the ERSP(Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation
Program) into EdenPure concluded in their report "an advertiser
making unqualified comparative product performance claims has the
burden to test its product versus a majority of significant competitors
on the market".
Maintenance
Replace
AHPCO Cell every 3 years for $69.00.
UV
Lamp must be replaced once a year. One EdenPure model requires costly
replacement HEPA filters once a month, their other model has a washable
filter that must be cleaned often.
Power
consumption
Just
pennies.
HEPA
filters require the air to be pulled though the machine. Energy
costs can be substantial.
